Hocking Hills State Park

There are 7 major Hiking Areas at Hocking Hills State Park - Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, Old Man's Cave, Conkle's Hollow, Cantwell Cliffs, Rock House, and Whispering Cave. They are all one-way loop trails.

HIKERS MUST REMAIN ON THE MARKED TRAIL. Well-behaved, non-aggressive pets are permitted on leash except at Conkle's Hollow. There is NO wading or swimming allowed in the waterfalls or creeks.

A permit is required at most locations in the park. The cost around $45.00

Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Though a short distance from the urban areas of Cleveland and Akron, Cuyahoga Valley National Park seems worlds away. The park is a refuge for native plants and wildlife, and provides routes of discovery for visitors. The winding Cuyahoga River gives way to deep forests, rolling hills, and open farmlands. 

A permit is required at most locations in the park. The cost around $75.00

Huntington Beach & Reservation

Huntington Reservation, acquired by Cleveland Metroparks in 1925, has been and continues to serve as the lakefront home to an extensive variety of Ohio wildlife, the site of refuge and relaxation, philanthropic ventures, educational endeavors, and host to the local arts scene.

Please Note:

Weddings ceremonies are allowed at public, shared-use areas of Cleveland Metroparks. The areas are not reservable for anyone’s exclusive use and can only accommodate 50 guests or fewer. 

A two (2) hour time slot is permitted for the area you have requested, so ceremonies should be short. No amplified music or sound systems are allowed. Please have a “Plan B” location for your wedding ceremony in case of rain, as tents are not permitted. To reserve a wedding ceremony location please contact Special Events at 216-635-3304.

Squire's Castle

This beautiful old gatehouse from the 1890s is modeled after German and English baronial castles and is a unique feature of North Chagrin that is a popular destination for people of all ages. Squire’s Castle should be on your “must see” list for North Chagrin Reservation. The open expanses in front of the castle are great for games and picnics, and the castle itself is a popular spot for weddings or an opportunity to explore the past.

Bridal Veil Falls

Gorge Pkwy, Walton Hills, OH 44146

A short walk along Deerlick Creek, down the boardwalk and steps, leads to a gorgeous view of Bridal Veil Falls.

These cascading waterfalls are surrounded by hardwoods and hemlocks. This is a very popular photo spot.

Headlands Beach State Park

The trademark of Headlands Beach State Park is its mile-long natural sand beach, the largest in the state.

In addition to its popularity during the summer season with picnickers and swimmers, the area is home to many plant species typically found only along the Atlantic Coast.

PASSES:

Ohio does not have an annual pass and does not charge entrance fees to state parks.

Rockefeller Park Greenhouse

Nestled in an enchanting oasis of trees, flowers, and lush lawns—the Greenhouse is a perfect place for your special event. The Rockefeller Park Greenhouse had its origins more than a century ago. The first plans for the City Garden, as it was originally called, were presented in 1902.

Marblehead Lighthouse State Park

The Marblehead Lighthouse is one of Lake Erie's best known and most-photographed landmarks. It is the oldest lighthouse in continuous operation on the Great Lakes. Visitors can climb to the top of the lighthouse during the summer season for spectacular views of the lake and its islands in the distance.

NELSON-KENNEDY LEDGES STATE PARK

The spectacular rock formations at Nelson-Kennedy Ledges have become trademarks of the park. These rock formations are among the few outcrops in northern Ohio still exposed to view. Most of the outcrops elsewhere have been covered with soil and rock left by receding glaciers.
