For many couples, this is their first time doing a professional photo session together. Think of it as a warm-up for the wedding day — you’ll get used to being in front of the lens, and I’ll get to know how you two interact naturally. By the time your big day rolls around, you’ll feel like pros.

When Should You Schedule Your Engagement Session?
The best time to schedule your engagement session is 6–12 months before your wedding date. This gives us plenty of flexibility to choose a season, plan around weather, and get your photos back in time for any wedding materials.
At Art G Photography, I offer engagement sessions year-round, but there are two main seasons that couples love:
Spring (Part 1): Blooming trees, soft golden light, and that fresh, romantic vibe. Perfect for floral backdrops and lighter color palettes.
Fall (Part 2 — my personal favorite!): Vibrant colors, cozy outfits, and crisp air that makes for warm, intimate moments. Think flannels, boots, and foliage galore.
Choosing the Right Location
Your session should reflect you. I work with couples all over Akron, Cleveland, Canton, and beyond, and together we’ll pick a spot that fits your vibe. Some popular options include:

What to Wear for Your Engagement Photos
You don’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe — but outfits do matter. Here are a few tried-and-true tips:
Coordinate, don’t match: Choose complementary colors and textures. Think: warm neutrals, soft patterns, and clothes that flow.
Plan 1-2 outfits: One more dressed up, one more casual. This gives variety to your gallery and keeps things fun.
Think movement: Dresses, jackets, and layers — these add visual interest and natural motion.
Comfort is key: If you feel good, you’ll look good. Don’t force a style that doesn’t feel like you.

No need to stress — I’ll guide you the whole way. But a little planning can help:
Be yourselves: The best photos come when you’re relaxed and having fun.
Arrive early: Give yourself time to settle in, especially if we’re walking to multiple spots.
Bring essentials: Water, touch-up makeup, extra shoes, or a jacket if it gets chilly.
Pets welcome! Want to include your pup? I’m all in. Just bring a friend to help wrangle them during non-pet shots.
